General Purpose:
Working closely with the firm’s Litigation Consultants on a variety of deadline-driven projects, the Litigation Consulting Project Manager oversees and coordinates projects from start to finish. This includes service proposal design, project scheduling, client coordination, vendor management, subcontractor management related to jury research, initial written questionnaire design, on-site mock research coordination and onsite data collection, analysis, display, support, and storage.
The Litigation Consulting Project Manager’s role is dynamic, high-energy, and highly independent, often requiring strict, self-imposed deadlines. This role drives client communications and must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and judgment. The Project Manager will take ownership of research design deadlines and is a focal point for client coordination as well as the main point of contact for vendor and market research companies. Coordinating several projects at any given time, the Project Manager will work under tight deadlines and work non-traditional hours. Periodic out-of-state travel will be required.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
General Duties:
Facilitate communication within Litigation Consulting team.
Oversee calendaring of deadlines (upcoming research, trials, and project deadlines).
Draft jury research schedules and research schedule templates.
Create customized Research Plan for each project and communicate deadlines to client teams.
Be a point of contact to clients to provide quick responses to guide clients throughout every stage of the research process.
Analyze trial venues using public databases; once a venue is selected, analyze venue demographics and create a venue analysis report.
Research, contract, and negotiate with hotels and facilities regarding costs and conditions for hosting research projects.
Organize and coordinate facility arrangements, mock trial room, and conference rooms including coordinating and working with A/V requirements and equipment needs.
Recruit mock jurors and confirm jurisdictional and venue requirements of mock jurors.
Coordinate with client team to acquire and complete preparation of materials required for projects (e.g. exhibits, video clips, key documents, jury forms). Finalize materials and supervise administrative assistant in preparing them for mock juror use (e.g., printing, assembly and shipping).
Manage catering/housekeeping needs with attorneys, reception and housekeeping departments.
Setup initial mock juror sort template and create initial sort for Litigation Consultant to reference when designing final juror panels.
Periodic nationwide travel to on-site research locations.
Provide all-day remote support for off-site project team if not assisting onsite.
Prepare budget/actuals reports post project and track expenses throughout life of project, including sending a line-item post-project budget to actual report to the lead litigation consultant in conjunction with the prebill.
Serve as point-person to coordinate with Client Services for creation of marketing materials to be distributed to clients on-site at pre-trial research projects.
Serve as point-person to inform and remind client team of project logistics, material needs, and upcoming deadlines.
Provide recommendations for research locations.
Create research schedules and budgets for proposed projects.
Manage and support special business development projects, activities, and events.
Maintain and update research-generated documents (pre- and post-research).
Perform additional duties and tasks assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the firm’s overall objectives.
Pre-Trial Research Projects:
Coordinate pre-trial research projects from start to finish (mock trials, focus groups, mock hearings, etc.).
Plan, schedule, manage, and execute remote, on-site, and off-site mock trial, mock arbitration and mock bench trial and focus group research.
Introduce systems and mechanisms for best managing projects.
Prepare drafts of written questionnaires for mock trial and focus group research for consultants to review and finalize, while referencing SPSS/BigJury databases to inform research design.
Execute initial programming and design of online surveys.
Monitor the completion of electronic surveys by research participants.
Collect data from research participants and provide on-site mock research coordination, data analysis, data display, and support – at times simultaneously.
Mock Juror Recruiting:
Draft mock juror recruitment screening questionnaire.
Enlist and oversee survey and market research firms for demographic/geographic surveys and juror recruitment needs.
Manage juror recruitment throughout research project.
Negotiate with market research companies regarding costs.
Determine jurisdictional requirements for juror eligibility.
Coordinate and manage mock juror incentive payment process.
Training and Advocacy Program:
Assist Litigation Consultants in execution of attorney training.
Locate training/advocacy program facility and negotiate facility contracts as necessary.
Manage all aspects of facility conference room, catering, and staffing for each session.
Coordinate and oversee Audio/Visual and Graphics arrangements for each session.
Oversee assembly of components for consultant’s materials for each session.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, organizational leadership, marketing, or social science or equivalent work experience.
Five or more years of related experience required.
Project Management experience preferred.
Proficient in the Microsoft application suite.
Experience in statistical analysis using common statistical packages (e.g., SPSS) strongly preferred. If no experience, must be willing to learn. .
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Project budgeting and scheduling experience preferred.
Billing experience preferred.
Experience with coordinating vendors preferred.
Ability and willingness to develop systems and use technology for project management.
Ability and high energy to organize, coordinate, and deliver a project management and business developing initiatives.
Discretion as required to handle sensitive and/or confidential information.
Demonstrated ability to manage high volume workload, multi-task, manage priorities and meet stringent deadlines.
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with innovative ideas and ability to problem-solve.
Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed; some weeks may require additional hours to complete projects and assignments.
Willingness to review and respond to communications via email and phone after business hours to ensure a timely response.
Willingness to travel on a periodic basis.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Schedule:
At this time, this position allows for a hybrid schedule. Additional days in-office may be required depending on business need and the demands of specific tasks. The hybrid work structure may change at any time, including the number of in-office day requirement.

This position is open to all locations within the Holland & Hart footprint, however Denver is preferred.
Compensation:
Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Colorado Salary Range – $64,236.42 to $107,060.71 annually. Montana Salary Range – $61,024.60 – $101,707.67. Washington DC Salary Range – $70,660.06 – $117,766.78. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
