Job Description:
This is a full time position for an experienced litigation legal assistant/paralegal. Candidate will assist attorneys with day-to-day litigation matters including, but not limited to, preparing correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, etc.; calendaring deadlines, client meetings, and important dates; maintaining and organizing files; preparing client invoices; entering attorney expenses and reimbursement requests.
Candidate must have excellent proofreading skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize projects with minimal supervision; ability to work independently; knowledge of electronic courthouse filing (PACER and Texas E-Filing), Adobe Acrobat Professional (ability to bates label, redact, edit, bookmark and combine documents), Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Candidate must be willing to work well with others in a high pressure, fast-paced environment and must be detail oriented. Ability and willingness to learn new software applications for billing (TimeSolv) and cloud based document storage (NetDocs) is required.
Position Responsibilities:
Drafting of pleadings and discovery, assisting the team with trial and/or depositions, reviewing documents, creating timelines, preparing case summaries, and providing general legal assistance.
Required Experience:
5+ years of law firm or corporate legal department experience desired.
