The Person al Injury Case Manager is responsible for managing a caseload of personal injury claims from intake to settlement. This role requires extensive experience in personal injury law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to guide junior team members. The Case Manager acts as the primary point of contact for clients, attorneys, medical providers, and insurance adjusters, ensuring the efficient handling and successful resolution of cases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Management
Oversee a high-volume caseload of personal injury claims, including auto accidents, slip-and-falls, and premises liability cases.
Track case progress and ensure deadlines, including statutes of limitation, are met.
Maintain detailed and accurate case records in the firm’s case management software.
Client Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed about case developments.
Provide compassionate support and guidance to clients throughout the claims process.
Legal and Administrative Support
Collect, organize, and analyze evidence such as police reports, medical records, and witness statements.
Draft demand letters, settlement proposals, and other case-related correspondence.
Prepare cases for litigation if a settlement is not reached.
Negotiation
Negotiate with insurance adjusters to achieve maximum settlement value for clients.
Evaluate settlement offers and advise clients and attorneys on appropriate action.
Coordination with Medical Providers
Monitor clients’ treatment progress and communicate with medical providers to obtain necessary records and billing statements.
Resolve medical liens and ensure accurate payment of providers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred but not required.
Experience
5+ years of experience managing personal injury cases in a law firm setting.
SKILLS:
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in case management software (e.g., Needles, Clio) and Microsoft Office Suite.
In-depth knowledge of personal injury law, insurance claims processes and medical terminology.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
