Overview:
The Case Development Specialist is responsible for building the foundation of each case through detailed evidence review, issue identification, and strategic case development. This role ensures that every claim is supported by the strongest possible documentation and evidentiary roadmap.
Role Function:
The Case Development Specialist works under the direction of the Case Manager to develop the case from an evidence and strategy standpoint. This includes reviewing VA rating decisions, medical records, and supporting documentation to identify strengths, weaknesses, and missing elements necessary to support the client’s claim.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review VA rating decisions, medical records, and related documentation
- Identify evidence gaps, inconsistencies, and missing support
- Develop a clear evidence roadmap for case strengthening
- Coordinate the collection of medical opinions, lay statements, and supporting records
- Organize and maintain clean, accurate case files
- Prepare internal case summaries and development notes
- Communicate development status and obstacles to the Case Manager
- Ensure all evidence aligns with the legal strategy for the case
- Be able to communicate to the client with regards to their case and provide information that is needed to progress their case forward
- Handle client communication and escalassions
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Evidence Development & Accuracy
- Percentage of cases fully developed by internal deadline
- Reduction in missing or incomplete documentation
- Accuracy rate of evidence reviews and issue spotting
Turnaround Time
- Average time to complete case development review
- Average time to resolve evidence gaps
Case Strengthening
- Percentage of cases improved through additional evidence development
- Number of successfully resolved evidentiary deficiencies
Quality Standards
- Maintain organized and complete case files
- Minimize rework requested by the Case Manager
Pay: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour
