The Opportunity
We are representing a prominent international group headquartered in Athens with a global operational footprint. We are looking for a highly skilled Corporate and Capital Markets Lawyer to join their sophisticated in-house legal team. This role is ideal for a commercially minded legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record in high-value financial transactions and complex regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Management: Lead and provide end-to-end legal support for corporate and USA capital markets activities, including bond issuances, private placements, and structured finance.
- Advisory & Governance: Serve as a subject matter expert on securities laws, disclosure obligations, and corporate governance for the Group's entities.
- Strategic Reporting: Draft and present internal memoranda, compliance reports, and briefings for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Compliance & Risk: Oversee the Group’s KYC and due diligence processes, ensuring robust vetting of group entities, counterparties, and third-party service providers.
- Corporate Secretarial: Maintain high standards of corporate integrity across the group, advising on fiduciary duties and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Academic Background: Law degree (LL.B.) supplemented by post-graduate studies (LL.M. or equivalent), preferably specialising in Corporate Law, Capital Markets, or Commercial Law.
- Professional Experience: 6+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) gained within a top-tier law firm and/or a multinational in-house legal department.
- Specialised Knowledge: Strong exposure to corporate and capital markets work. Experience advising listed companies (or those preparing for listing) is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive understanding of securities laws, disclosure requirements, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to conduct detailed legal due diligence and risk assessments on complex group structures and global counterparties.
- Language: Full professional proficiency in both English and Greek.
