Job Purpose:
The Candidate Attorney will undergo practical legal training while contributing to the firm’s daily operations. This role provides exposure to a broad spectrum of legal work, enabling the candidate to gain practical experience in preparation for admission as an attorney.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence under supervision.
- Conduct legal research and prepare opinions on various legal matters.
- Attend court proceedings, client meetings, and consultations where appropriate.
- Assist senior attorneys with case preparation, discovery, and trial support.
- Manage client files and ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law relevant to the firm’s practice areas.
- Participate in professional development and training programs offered by the firm.
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant degree from an accredited South African university.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
