Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role located at our campus in Laramie, WY. A Campus Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all students, staff, and visitors on campus. Daily responsibilities include patrolling campus grounds, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to emergencies, enforcing campus safety policies, and maintaining accurate incident reports. The role requires proactive communication with the campus community to foster a safe and secure environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to maintain a high level of vigilance, situational awareness, and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals
- Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred
- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks such as walking, standing, and patrolling for extended periods
- A commitment to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and safe campus environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in safety or security are a plus
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
