Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to provide vital support to our attorneys and investigators in our property unit. This role involves preparing legal documents, managing property-related records, coordinating meeting logistics, and assisting attorneys with court filings. The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient, and capable of managing multiple administrative legal tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Power of Attorney (POA) documentation for use by investigators.
Complete and organize paperwork for investigators and attorneys as needed.
Order and track title work for properties under investigation or legal review.
Maintain and update internal property lists to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
Prepare, update, and distribute agendas for property meetings.
managing lien release letters for client vehicles and notifying relevant personnel when documents are received.
Assist attorneys with drafting, formatting, and filing court-related documents.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or legal studies certification preferred.
2+ years of experience as a legal assistant or in a related legal support role.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and document management systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with property or title documents.
Familiarity with legal software and database systems.
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
