Job Description
We are a boutique immigration law firm located in Manhattan, dedicated to serving the immigrant community. We offer a broad range of immigration services for our clients, including family immigration, business immigration, asylum, naturalization, removal defense/Immigration Court, and humanitarian immigration.
An immediate opening is available for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic and growing practice. The candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in immigration law.
Please note that Russian language is required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare petitions and filings, including forms, cover letters, and related supporting documents for Immigration Court and USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services);
Work with clients to gather information and documents;
Communicate with and provide assistance to clients and callers;
Schedule appointments and maintain calendar;
Organize and track paper and electronic case files;
Meet deadlines and communicate case progress to supervising attorney and/or paralegal; and
Handle additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Associate’s Degree;
Russian Language (required);
Ability to commute to the Manhattan, NY office (required);
2+ years of experience in the immigration law field;
Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas;
Solid MS Word, spelling, grammar, and typing skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment;
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities;
Ability to multitask and achieve a high level of productivity with accuracy;
Flexibility and initiative regarding assignments; and
Experience managing a large caseload.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
