We sue banks and corporations for hurting consumers. We handle civil litigation in state court, federal court, and in arbitration for plaintiffs. Some of our cases include data breaches, identity theft, credit reporting, unlawful debt collection, discrimination, invasion of privacy, call recording, robo calls, claims under the Electronic Funds Transfer Act and wildfires.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an associate attorney at Shay Legal, APC in Mission Valley. The attorney will be responsible forscreening potential new cases, drafting complaints, filing cases, discovery, appearing at hearings, client communication, providing legal advice, conducting research and negotiation with opposing counsel. The ideal candidate will have strong skills related to research, writing and civil procedure. The associate should have experience taking depositions and arguing in court.
Qualifications
Licensed in California
Two years of experience
Reside near Mission Valley (North Park, Hillcrest, Downtown, etc) – not North County
Ability and will to work on-site for at least 40 hours a week
Skills related to research, writing and civil procedure
Experience taking depositions and arguing in court
Microsoft Office proficiency eg Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
Knowledge of consumer laws and regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
Negotiation experience
Compensation
$120,000 per year salary
