Division Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs and Deputy General Counsel
The Missouri Hospital Association is seeking a division vice president of legal and regulatory affairs and deputy general counsel. This position is responsible for a variety of legal matters affecting MHA and its related organizations, together with coordination and oversight of MHA’s regulatory guidance and advocacy on behalf of member hospitals.
Candidate must possess a law degree and be a member in good standing with the Missouri Bar. At least seven years of legal experience in a law firm, corporation, association or government setting is required. Must possess leadership qualities as well as excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, writing and oral presentation skills. Familiarity with health care policy and legal issues as well as state and federal laws and regulations governing hospital operations and clinical practices within hospitals is required. Experience with HIPAA privacy and security rules is essential. Candidate who is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or who has a Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) is preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively with attorneys, hospital leaders, public officials and others from various backgrounds and levels of education. This position will perform a variety of professional and administrative functions, sometimes under long and irregular hours, and will require the capacity to participate in occasional overnight travel.
