JOB PURPOSE:
The AVP of Sharia Compliance will ensure that all banking products and services comply with Sharia law. This role involves working closely with various departments to provide guidance on Sharia principles and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Oversee the development and implementation of Sharia-compliant products and services.
Conduct regular reviews and audits of banking operations for Sharia compliance.
Collaborate with Sharia boards and advisors to interpret Islamic law and its application in banking.
Provide training and support to staff on Sharia compliance issues.
Prepare reports for senior management regarding compliance status and recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Finance, Law, or related field.
6-8 years of experience in Sharia compliance within the financial services sector.
Strong understanding of Islamic finance principles and local regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
