As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant/ Intake Specialist to join our team in San Diego and be the first point of contact for potential clients.

Job Summary
The Intake Specialist/ legal assistant plays a crucial role in the legal process by managing the initial stages of client engagement. This position involves gathering relevant information, assessing client needs, and ensuring that all documentation is accurately prepared and processed. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, as well as a foundational understanding of legal procedures and terminology. We are looking for a long term relationship.

Responsibilities

Conduct initial consultations with clients to gather pertinent information and assess their legal needs.
Prepare and draft legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
Utilize document management systems such as iManage to organize and maintain client files.
Perform legal research to support case preparation and provide relevant information to attorneys.
Proofread documents for clarity, grammar, and adherence to legal standards.
Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to facilitate effective communication and workflow.
E-filing necessary documents with the Court
Coordinate appointments, motion hearings, meetings, and depositions
Calendaring
Interaction with clients.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with legal ethics.
Assist in the management of the cases, ensuring all documentation is properly filed.
Utilize software tools such as Clio for case management and billing processes.

Skills

Proficiency in document management systems.
Excellent proofreading abilities to ensure high-quality documentation.
Solid understanding of legal research methodologies and resources.
Strong written communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation preparation.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing individual responsibilities.
Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
