Attorney – Workers’ Compensation Defense Jobs in Remote at Stockwell, Harris, Woolverton & Fox

The Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Land Use practice group and boosting attorney and land planner efficiency by managing information and aiding in the delivery of legal services, including client interactions. This position demands a proactive attitude to ensure tasks are completed on time, exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to excel in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Minimum of two years’ experience working for an AmLaw 200 or other sophisticated law firm. Experience in MS Office 2010 including proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Proofread all documents and correspondence for accuracy.
Facilitate communication between the attorneys, land planners, project consultants (architects, landscape architects, civil engineers, surveyors, etc.), and municipal staff.
Coordinate with municipal staff, clients, project team members, and public notice consultants regarding the completion of applicable public notice requirements.
Frequent communication and coordination with necessary consultants; some circumstances may require to physically post signs at the location of the project(s) and completing the mailout of public notice letters.
Prepare and maintain case list.
Assist in preparing and completing the opening of new matters (conflict checks, file openings, drafting engagement letters, etc.).
Coordinate processing of retainer payments with clients via credit card, wire transfer, and/or check.
Revise documents and keep track of deal changes and update accordingly.
Prepare signature pages for land use and zoning agreements.
Maintain good relationships with clients, municipal staff, and project consultants.
Maintain organized files.
Coordinate calls and meetings for attorneys and land planners with clients, municipal staff, project consultants, etc.
Maintain attorneys’ calendar and schedule.
Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and project consultants regarding various informational and/or graphical needs associated with preparation of presentations.
Prepare and maintain lobbyist registrations for attorneys with various municipalities.
Coordinate with clients and municipal staff on registrations updates annually and/or as required for meetings with elected officials and public hearings.
Complete lobbyist contact/disclosure logs for various municipalities for all communication between attorney and elected officials with required timeframes.
Other duties as assigned.
