You've built a real book of business — clients who call you, not your old firm. You're ready to stop leaving money on the table at a platform that doesn't reward origination, and you want a collegial, full-service Seattle firm where you can plant your flag, grow your practice, and have a transparent, achievable path to equity partnership. This is not a lateral associate role dressed up with a title. You need portable business of $500K+ and the independence to run it.
IMPORTANT: WHO THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR
- Service partners without origination — this role requires a portable book, not just billable hours
- Attorneys looking to grow their practice from scratch — the firm is investing in established rainmakers
- Remote-only candidates — office presence matters here; 60–70% of attorneys are in daily
- Candidates without active WA Bar admission or a path to obtaining it
What You'll Do
- Bring and actively grow a portable book of business ($500K+ minimum) using the firm's full-service infrastructure to cross-sell across practice areas
- Originate and service matters in your core area — transactional real estate, corporate/M&A, employment (employer-side), or commercial litigation — and leverage associates and paralegals effectively
- Collaborate with partners and practice group leads to deliver comprehensive, client-first legal counsel
- Operate on a transparent, formula-driven compensation model: 15% origination + 30% collections on own work (45% baseline; 55% at performance tier), with a bridge salary during ramp-up
- Build internal relationships that generate cross-referral opportunities — the firm runs as a true collaborative platform
- Progress through Of Counsel status (minimum ~12 months) with formal equity partnership consideration at year-end for the following calendar year
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of legal practice with a portable book of business of $500K+ (required — no exceptions)
- Background in transactional real estate, corporate law, M&A, employer-side employment, or commercial litigation preferred
- Experience at a small-to-mid-size firm or solo practice where you've had direct client ownership
- Rooted in the Pacific Northwest legal community, or a compelling case for relocation (Bay Area candidates considered)
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine interest in firm culture and long-term partnership — not just a platform change
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
Bridge salary of $225K–$275K during ramp-up, with OTE of $450K–$550K once the book is running on the firm's platform. Equity-only partnership structure — there is no non-equity partner tier. All partners share the same transparent compensation formula. Single Seattle office (hybrid); strong office presence expected. Visa sponsorship not available.
