Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Estate and Probate Specialist to manage the administration of shareholder estate settlements. This role is responsible for handling all aspects of BBNC and village corporation stock estates in accordance with valid wills or intestate succession laws. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task, make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, advanced vocabulary, spelling, editing, and proofreading skills.
Provide excellent levels of customer care through well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain poise when dealing with high-pressure or high-emotion situations.
Good public contact skills and knowledge of proper telephone etiquette.
Good understanding of subject areas typically raised by shareholders who contact the department.
Working knowledge of ANCSA as it relates to the subject areas typically raised by shareholders.
Demonstrate ability to analyze and prioritize current workload. This includes reprioritizing accordingly, when necessary.
Word processing skills; accurate data entry skills; and working knowledge of personal computers.
Self-starter, requiring minimal supervision.
Demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.

Essential Job Responsibilities (includes but are not limited to):
Coordinate with the RIM department to retrieve and create the deceased shareholder file and upon final estate settlement, transfer closed estate file to RIM for final scanning and retention.
Responsible for gathering data and required documents for pending deceased shareholder estates.
Respond to requests for various information or documents for probate matters from deceased shareholder families, BBNA, or other entities in a timely manner.
Responsible for maintaining accurate shareholder estate files and that appropriate changes are reflected in shareholder records after estate settlement.
Responsible for ensuring that information sent out to shareholders and/or village corporations accurately reflects information of stock transfer.
Work closely with the Legal department and SVP Shareholder & Corporate Relations on complex circumstances and final review and approval process of stock estates
Work closely with the Finance department to issue and distribute any pending shareholder payments as part of the stock estate settlement.
Build out lineage within Shareholder Information System based on family information gathered.
Track and report status of estate files as requested
Assist with other BBNC projects or shareholder-related events.
Some travel may be required.
Other duties as assigned.
