We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Attorney to join our team as a 1099 Independent Contractor or W-2. Attorneys licensed in any U.S. state are encouraged to apply. Position Overview
The Attorney will provide legal counsel and representation to clients facing consumer debt-related legal matters, including cases involving solar panel financing disputes and solar panel debt. This position is primarily remote, with court appearances required only when necessary for assigned cases. The ideal candidate is a proactive legal professional with strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills who can independently manage cases while collaborating with our legal support team to achieve positive client outcomes. Experience handling solar panel debt matters is highly valued, though attorneys with a strong interest in developing this area of practice are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in consumer debt-related legal matters, including court appearances when required.
- Handle matters involving consumer debt, including solar panel financing agreements, solar panel debt disputes, and related consumer protection issues, as applicable.
- Review client files, legal documentation, and supporting evidence.
- Conduct legal research using legal research platforms.
- Provide legal advice regarding consumer debt issues and related legal matters.
- Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, correspondence, settlement agreements, and other filings.
- Develop case strategies and prepare matters for litigation, mediation, arbitration, or negotiated resolution, as appropriate.
- Communicate professionally with clients, creditors, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable client outcomes.
- Maintain accurate case records using legal case management systems while ensuring compliance with court deadlines, applicable laws, and ethical obligations.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to efficiently manage caseloads and deliver exceptional client service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
- Ability to appear in court, when necessary, in jurisdictions where the attorney is authorized to practice.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Experience with litigation, motion practice, negotiations, or dispute resolution is preferred.
- Experience in consumer law, debt resolution, collections defense, bankruptcy, civil litigation, solar panel financing disputes, or related practice areas is preferred but not required.
- Attorneys with experience handling solar panel debt matters—or a strong interest in building a practice focused on solar panel debt and consumer financing disputes—are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with legal research platforms and legal case management software is a plus.
