We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Associate Attorney to join our growing family law practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney looking to develop their expertise in family law while making a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.
Job Description:
As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of family law matters, including but not limited to divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence cases. You will work closely with senior attorneys, clients, and support staff to ensure effective case management and successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in family law matters, including court appearances, mediations, and hearings.
Draft, review, and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on family law matters, explaining the legal process and options available to them.
Negotiate settlements and draft agreements to resolve disputes outside of court when possible.
Maintain and manage case files, keeping clients informed and ensuring timely compliance with deadlines and court requirements.
Attend depositions, hearings, and trials as necessary.
Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure optimal client service.
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in the state of Tennessee.
Admitted to the bar in Tennessee.
1-3 years of experience in family law is preferred, though we will consider candidates with a strong interest in family law and a willingness to learn.
Strong communication, negotiation, and research skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged matters with empathy and professionalism.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload independently.
Knowledge of family law statutes and procedures.
