Job Summary: The Court Clerk performs all clerical and customer service duties related to the daily operation of the Municipal Court. The Court Clerk will ensure that the public is provided with prompt and accurate information pertaining to the services provided by the municipal court by furnishing facts and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel for additional information and service. Responsible for generating, administering & filing all court records.
Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:
Process in-person, mailed, and electronic receivables by posting payments in Incode software, providing hard copy verification for the files, and completing associated reports.
Provide in-person and telephone customer assistance to all persons who come in contact with the court.
Answer case related questions and schedules cases for appropriate docket at customer service window and through incoming telephone line.
Prepare cases for Court Docket.
Generate Computer input and disseminate computer output.
Record Court proceedings and update records accordingly.
Serve as liaison to Municipal Judge, City Prosecutor, and Police Department.
Prepare Notices to Appear and Subpoenas.
Research and provide pertinent information to offenders and or appropriate representative.
Complete all disposition clerical work for cases after the judge’s ruling.
Enter orders, document all sentencing requirements, and complete all required forms for distribution to other agencies and government entities.
Prepare and forward State copy of traffic citations.
Prepare and distribute all correspondence, oral and written.
Prepare and forward monthly reports and funds to proper State authorities.
Prepare Trial Docket and preside at Court.
Other duties as required, including assisting at Utility Billing.
