What’s the role?

Based in New York, you will join your colleagues on the Licensing team to drive and support projects that improve operations, drive efficiency and streamline processes between us and our business partners. You will also lead and support the Legal and Compliance Department on large technology and process driven projects. Together, our goal is to bring us into the future of legal operations, leveraging AI functionality. You will also be responsible for data analytics and will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (including Engineering and Finance) to provide input and feedback on the ongoing development of these tools, most notably the Contracts Life Cycle Portal, a comprehensive internal database of contracts and clause library that will leverage machine learning and natural language processing to automate identification of key legal and commercial terms and feeds them into downstream systems.

Proactively manage assigned projects from initiation to completion, identifying potential roadblocks and taking necessary steps to ensure timely delivery and high-quality standards are met, holding yourself accountable for project outcomes
Be a very quick and independent learner of new processes, tools and technology
Leverage technology to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges, optimizing processes and enhancing efficiency
Have demonstrated experience in identifying and supporting the implementation of technology and process improvements, preferably ones that have leveraged any form of artificial Intelligence.
Ability to support the quantitative and analytical sides of projects
Be a thought leader, able to advocate for new and innovative ways of operating, while also enhancing and streamlining existing process and systems
Strong ability to collaborate with key stakeholders such as Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Chief Risk Office, and external suppliers, ensuring clear communications and alignment, as well as supporting them where needed
Help organize and facilitate training sessions for the team and Department as needed in connection with areas covered
Help collect and organize data for key metrics
Stay updated with legal and compliance industry operations trends to introduce innovative solutions

You’ll need to have:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
5+ years’ experience in an operations role (legal and/or compliance operations preferred)
Advanced Microsoft suite skills, including Excel skills-proficiency in data analysis, pivot tables and complex formulas (Qlik Sense experience a plus, SQL or Tableau nice to have)
Strong attention to detail
Superb written and oral communication skills -articulate and persuasive with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity, engagement, and alignment across teams
Skilled in writing functional and technical documentation of processes
Strong time management skills
A positive can-do attitude and strong work ethic, able to work collaboratively and autonomously while managing tasks independently with high performance

Ability to learn and understand end-to-end workflows to identify key dependencies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Ability to quickly learn and navigate Bloomberg’s proprietary technology that is an integral part of the Company as well as other technologies
