Who We’re Looking For

Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to assist the attorneys and clients. The role will work with attorneys to manage cases, from case initiation by the client to preparation of the applications using case tracking software and acquisition of the related documents. Provide secretarial support for PI attorneys by performing clerical and secretarial functions such as typing and transcribing legal and technical materials, providing information to attorneys, scheduling court hearings, preparing subpoenas, maintaining case files, filing documents in state, district and/or federal court, and performing related duties as assigned. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with a strong client service focus.

What You’ll Be Doing

Perform administrative tasks and casework, including:

Provide general office support for Personal Injury litigation attorneys, for example, maintain and organize files, photocopy, maintain calendars, prepare expense reports, and submit invoices for payment.
Provide support for the firm’s monthly billing process, track PI attorney time records and billing.
Set up new clients in the billing system.
Prepare correspondence, documents, and presentations; take responsibility for formatting, consistency, and accuracy on time-sensitive, high-profile documents.
Calculate and calendar court deadlines.
Format, proofread, and finalize detailed correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents; prepare and finalize basic correspondence and other documents as necessary.
Establish and maintain paper and electronic filing systems; classify, sort and file correspondence, records, and other documents.
File pleadings in state and federal trial courts, courts of appeals, and Supreme Courts; communicate with court staff, as necessary; keep current with changes in court rules and filing procedures.
Perform general research and support activities to assist attorneys.
Create and maintain a positive working environment; work effectively in teams with enthusiasm and initiative to support the vision and mission of the office.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research sites.
Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
Bilingual Spanish and English preferred
