Sinayskaya Yuniver, a Brooklyn based law firm, is looking for an Associate Attorney. Our firm’s Area of Practice are: Commercial Litigation, Labor and Employment Law – Commercial Class-Action Defense, General Business Law, and Healthcare Law. This is an opportunity to join an innovative and close-knit team, working on sophisticated and complex litigation matters.
Candidates must have exceptional written and oral communications skills along with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will possess sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, the ability to; work well under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and manage their workload. Prior experience drafting motions and handling discovery and trial preparation is required.
Responsibilities include:
Handling pre-trial proceedings, discovery, motion practice, court conferences, and depositions
Drafting legal documents including, but not limited to, bill of particulars and other pleadings, discovery motions, and appellate briefs
Managing the in-take of contract requests and conducting client interviews related to contracts
Perform legal research
Managing and settling disputes
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
Apprising partners of material developments and matters on a timely basis
Exercising sound business and legal judgment
Demonstrating leadership skills in the support of a collaborative team environment
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year litigation experience
JD Degree from an accredited law school
Member in good standing of the New York State Bar
Strong legal writing skills
Analytical skills
Attention to detail
Sound judgment and ability to have full ownership over cases
