Position: ATTORNEY – HEALTHCARE LAW ASSOCIATE

Summary:
Hancock Daniel & Johnson is seeking an Associate Attorney (approximately 3-5 years of experience) to advise clients on healthcare law, including government and internal investigations, compliance program development, support and assessment, risk management, and governance. Admission to the Virginia State Bar is required. The ideal candidate will be a client-service oriented, collaborative team player who possesses knowledge of administrative law and the regulatory process with a demonstrated ability to help clients ensure compliance and avoid or mitigate risk.
Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Admission to Virginia State Bar in good standing (or ability to waive in)
Experience in Administrative Law Healthcare regulatory experience
Experience with commercial and government reimbursement
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively on a team
A drive for excellence and strong customer service
Ability to develop relationships and build trust
Strong academic credentials
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a law firm or judicial clerkship Physical and Cognitive Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Sitting for extended periods of time with some periods of standing. Talking, listening, and speaking clearly on the telephone.
Sufficient visual and cognitive acuity to read and comprehend hand-written and printed documents.
Must be able to lift 10 pounds without assistance. Handling multiple priorities and adapting to frequent change.
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Must be respectful and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
