Position responsibilities include:
Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, direct visitors to appropriate person and office
Answer, screen, forward, incoming calls
Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable
Provide basic and accurate info, in-person, via phone, and via email
Assisting the Administrative Director with daily tasks
Assisting the billing coordinator w/monthly invoices, filing, and preparing bills to mail out
Handle all office/kitchen supply inventory and orders, keep conference rooms stocked and organized. Maintaining inventory tracking list
Managing conference room organization and scheduling
Assistance with mail retrieval, help with any outgoing mail
Firm communication regarding status of Admin related matters
Assistance with answering any incoming phone calls (potential clients, clients, attorneys, etc.)
Any needed client communication
Assisting with maintaining the firm’s call log
Requirements for Consideration:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must be extremely organized and have strategic plans in place to meet deadlines
Ability to identify problems and resolve the problem through independent thinking in an efficient and effective manner
All while communicating with your supervisor as to the issue and resolution
Strong attention to detail
Highly motivated and energized by deadlines
Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize high-volume tasks and multi-task
Punctuality and satisfactory attendance
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel

The qualified candidate will have impeccable written and oral communication skills, good judgment, keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, a willingness to learn, and desire to accept significant responsibility and manage a challenging workload within a fast-paced environment.

Discretion handling confidential information is critical. Five years of civil trial experience as a law firm paralegal is required, preferably with commercial litigation matters.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes
Prepare and file correspondence and legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by attorney
Investigate facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly
Assist attorneys with deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial preparation
Must have experience with handling courtroom technology
Ability to find solutions/figure out any technological difficulties on-site
Responsible for organizing and setting up technology day of/days it is needed
Responsible for being “on-call” for the attorneys during trial
Scheduling and setting up “war room” for attorneys as needed
Ability to research and find solutions while under pressure
Assist with discovery, including bates labeling and indexing documents
Proofread all work, including reading documents for content and context
Schedule and monitor a calendar of docket events and deadlines
E-filing with State and Federal Courts and Administrative Agencies
E-filing and searches with the Secretary of State
Prepare PowerPoint presentations
Run technology in court, hearings, mediations, etc.
Open new clients and matters, and facilitate the conflicts process for new and existing clients
Perform other duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, composing and typing routine correspondence, assist with billing, client communication, and reading and routing incoming mail
Requirements for Consideration:
5 years of litigation paralegal or related experience with a law firm
Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred.
Must understand litigation from start to finish
Strong attention to detail
Highly motivated and energized by deadlines
Exercise initiative for solutions when problems arise
Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize high-volume caseload and multitask

Hendershot Cowart P.C. is seeking a Litigation Associate with a minimum of five years of experience to join our Houston office. The role will include special emphasis on commercial litigation from case inception, discovery and motion practice through mediation or trial. The qualified candidate will have previous courtroom experience with strong interpersonal skills, a high degree of maturity, a willingness to learn, and a desire to accept significant responsibility and manage a challenging workload within a fast-paced environment.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Analyzing, researching and drafting briefs addressing sophisticated legal issues on complex litigation, ranging from state and federal court motions to dismiss, summary judgment and motions to compel and appeals
Drafting pleadings
Prepare discovery, briefing, and research
Making court appearances for hearings and trials
Participating in administrative hearings before OSHA, Texas Medical Board, Centers for Medicare Services and other state and federal agencies
Attending depositions
Conducting administrative hearings
Conducting mediations
Requirements for Consideration:
Lead in evidentiary hearings
Experience leading Temporary Injunction and Temporary Restraining Order hearings
Good standing with the Texas State Bar
At least 5 years of prior experience at a regional or national law firm or an outstanding local firm
Proven track record of experience in successful complex commercial litigation
At least 3 years of trial experience
Lead in depositions of both fact and expert witnesses
Lead in mediations
Practice in both State and Federal courts
