As a futures attorney under SIG’s Chief Regulatory Counsel, you will focus on assuring compliance with futures, energy, securities, and other regulations, and assist with associated litigation matters. Responsibilities will generally include monitoring and updating the firm on regulatory requirements and industry developments, developing policies and procedures, legal research into regulatory and related issues, responding to regulatory requests, advising traders and business staff, facilitating compliance programs, and working with outside litigation counsel.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement policies and procedures to ensure review of electronic communication is in compliance with applicable regulations; retrieve and review such communications in support of regulatory requirements as well as in support of litigation matters or business related requests
Review regulations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations relating to futures and energy products
Partner with staff in addressing regulatory examinations and inquiries
Partner with outside counsel to support litigation including conducting and coordinating document production and review, collection and presentation of data; supervise contract attorneys engaged for document review where applicable
Manage AML compliance for all domestic entities across the firm, facilitating annual and biennial audits of all broker/dealers
What we’re looking for
Juris Doctor required
Minimum of three years of experience in a futures industry regulatory, compliance, or related legal role preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills required
Must demonstrate experience with MS Office, including Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
