Part-Time Associate Attorney – Bankruptcy Petition Review (Western District of Pennsylvania)
Van Horn Law Group, P.A., an AV-Rated firm known for its client-first approach and accessible legal solutions, is expanding into Pittsburgh and looking for a Part-Time Associate Attorney to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a licensed attorney in the Western District of Pennsylvania who is passionate about bankruptcy law and values flexibility, professionalism, and purpose-driven work.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, client-focused attorney to review bankruptcy petitions and guide clients through the petition process. This role offers meaningful work in a part-time capacity—perfect for attorneys balancing other commitments while staying active in practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Review Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions for accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance.
Meet with clients to explain and review petitions, ensuring full understanding before filing.
Maintain regular and reassuring communication with clients throughout the review process.
Collaborate with our legal team while also working independently with minimal supervision.
Utilize CM/ECF for e-filing and maintain knowledge of local rules and procedures in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Keep detailed, organized records and maintain a high standard of documentation.
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice in the Western District of Pennsylvania (required).
Strong understanding of bankruptcy law and petition preparation.
Proficiency with CM/ECF and experience in bankruptcy e-filing.
Excellent communication and client relations skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
A team player who is also confident working independently.
Commitment to supporting clients through financial difficulty with empathy and clarity.
