Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Litigation Paralegal to join well-known plaintiff’s personal injury trial law firm. The ideal candidate will help manage a demanding schedule and heavy case load of complex litigation. Strong plaintiff’s personal injury litigation experience necessary. Candidates must be extremely organized, able to work independently, possess good communication skills and have a proactive work ethic.
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing case files and exhibits.
Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Proofread all legal documents for accuracy and compliance with court rules.
Manage case files using case management Smokeball software to ensure all information is up-to-date.
Perform data entry tasks related to case management and client information.
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather necessary information for cases.
Maintain an organized filing system for both physical and electronic documents.
Skills
Strong knowledge of law with a focus on personal injury preferred.
Excellent proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Smokeball case software is highly desirable.
Ability to write clearly and concisely for various legal documents.
Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
