Responsibilities:
– Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
– Draft legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, and briefs
– Represent clients in court and litigate cases
– Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
– Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files
– Collaborate with colleagues on complex legal matters
– Stay informed about current laws and regulations
Requirements:
– Admission to the state bar association
– One year of prior experience practicing as an attorney in NYS
– Strong knowledge of legal research tools, such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice
– Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
– Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
– Prior experience in legal research, drafting, and litigation is preferred
