Job Description:
They are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Insurance Defense Attorney who has successfully passed the New York State Bar and is eager to gain hands-on litigation experience. This role offers an opportunity to be actively involved in all phases of the litigation process, from initial investigation through trial and appeal.
Responsibilities:
Appear in court for motions, hearings, depositions, and trials.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research to support case strategy and client advocacy.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and insurance carriers.
Prepare and draft status reports for clients and insurance adjusters.
Analyze and interpret legal data, laws, statutes, legal codes, and precedents.
Serve as the client’s advocate, making recommendations in their best interest.
Summarize case facts and develop strategic approaches to litigation.
Evaluate and negotiate settlements where appropriate.
Participate in all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation and appellate work.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Must have passed the NY Bar, but can be pending admission.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Interest in handling litigation from case inception through resolution.
