Paralegal – Immigration Legal Services
Class: Full-Time/Exempt
Salary : $60,000
Location: In-person only
Reports to: Director of Immigration and Legal Services
Position Summary:
As a Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys and accredited representatives to assist individuals and families navigating the immigration system. This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. Additionally, JFS is committed to professional growth and will provide training for the selected candidate to become a DOJ-accredited representative.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with preparing and filing immigration forms, applications, and supporting documents
Conduct client intake interviews and maintain case files
Communicate with clients, attorneys, and government agencies
Research immigration laws and policies to support casework
Provide interpretation and translation assistance as needed
Support outreach efforts to educate the community on immigration rights and resources
Qualifications & Requirements:
Fluency in written and spoken Spanish (required)
Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred
Experience in immigration law or legal services is a plus, but not required
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive client information with professionalism and discretion
Willingness to receive training to become a DOJ-accredited representative
