. Associate Counsel Salary: $131,283 – $154,454 Senior Associate Counsel Salary: $144,157 – $169,593
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the successful candidate is responsible for providing advice on a broad range of legal issues to the Police Services Board, York Regional Council, and related entities. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Provides risk management advice and strategies. Provides opinions and strategic legal advice on a variety of legal issues including commercial, contractual, and procurement matters. Drafts, negotiates, and reviews corporate commercial documents and contracts.
Prepares and reviews reports to the York Regional Police Services Board and Regional Council. Negotiates with external agencies and municipal partners. Maintains current knowledge of developments in the law. Performs other duties as required. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Successful completion of a University Degree in Law (L.L.B. or J.D.). Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. Associate Counsel: 1-3 years of expertise in relevant legal areas.
Senior Associate Counsel:
Minimum 5 years of expertise in relevant legal areas. Demonstrated knowledge of corporate core competencies. Effective interpersonal and presentation skills. Proven analytical and decision-making skills. Experience advising on legal matters in the public sector is an asset. Close Date:
