Althaus Law is a firm that focuses its practice on estate planning and probate law. We are looking to find the right fit for our team in the form of an Associate Paralegal who can also handle certain administrative tasks. This position would support our attorneys, paralegals, and clients. The position will be fulltime and has room for advancement into a paralegal position.

· Experience in the legal field
· Experience working as a receptionistExperience answering phones
Requirements
· Ability to communicate well with clients and other co-workers
· Team-oriented
· Exceptional customer service skills and ability to deal with individuals in crisis
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a quickly growing firm
· Proficient in Microsoft Word
· Experience with Adobe Acrobat (pdf reader)
· Ability to answer multi-line phone system
· A sense of humor
· Love of most animals, but especially dogs
Duties Summary
The main duties of an Associate Paralegal at our firm:
- Manage front desk by triaging incoming calls, scheduling appointments, responding to emails, and greeting new clients
- Provide a warm and welcoming environment for all clients and visitors of the office
- Draft estate planning documents
- Draft probate documents and upkeep probate cases
- Handle general office duties such as scanning, copying, ordering supplies, distributing mail, and creating new client packets
- Complete projects and assignments for the attorneys and paralegals
- Handle caseloads that require resolving issues for many cases at once, in addition to tracking various deadlines for attorneys and clients
- Scan and convert all closed paper files to electronic files
- Create/streamline processes to increase productivity
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of front desk, lobby, and kitchen area
Salary and Benefits
The starting salary is $50,000/year. Depending on performance, self-motivation, and an eagerness to improve, advancement opportunities through a paralegal career path are available. We also provide retirement plans, health insurance, PTO, dental/vision, and other benefits.
