Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to our legal staff and contribute to the efficient operation of the law firm.
Responsibilities
– Conduct document review and organization to support legal proceedings
– Provide administrative assistance including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence
– Assist in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and appeals
– Offer executive administrative support to attorneys by drafting communications and maintaining files
– Familiarity with various legal areas such as family law, environmental law, estate planning, and litigation
– Answer phones professionally and direct calls to appropriate personnel while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
Experience
– Proven experience in legal administrative roles is preferred
– Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
– Proficiency in using legal software and databases
– Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
– Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
