A law firm based in Santa Barbara is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its accomplished litigation team. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of civil litigation matters, including appellate law, business disputes, class actions, employment issues, intellectual property rights, disability claims, personal injury cases, public entity representation, and sensitive legal matters.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to litigation while working closely with senior attorneys to advocate for clients in various legal proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth legal research to develop case strategies and provide informed guidance to clients.

Draft, analyze, and respond to complex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.

Organize and manage case files, ensuring accuracy and compliance in document handling within multifaceted litigation matters.

Attend and actively participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial proceedings.

Oversee case timelines, deadlines, and procedural obligations to maintain efficiency and strategic execution.

Communicate effectively with clients, legal teams, court officials, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.

Assist in trial preparation, including witness interviews, exhibit organization, and courtroom logistics.

Progressively take on litigation responsibilities intending to independently handle courtroom advocacy and witness examinations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

An active member of the California State Bar in good standing.

5-7 years of experience, preferably with 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation.

Exceptional legal research, analytical, and critical thinking skills to develop persuasive arguments.

Strong drafting and writing abilities to produce compelling legal documents and correspondence.

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with clients, colleagues, and court professionals.

Ability to efficiently manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities in a fast-paced legal setting.

Self-driven, resourceful, and capable of independently addressing complex legal challenges while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
