Associate Legal Counsel – Financial Services Consulting Firm (REMOTE POSITION)
This is a unique opportunity for an attorney seeking meaningful responsibility and broad in-house exposure across commercial, operational, regulatory, and data privacy matters in the financial services industry.

DFP Partners is a financial services consulting and CPA firm, based in midtown Manhattan, that provides outsourced accounting, regulatory compliance, and operational support primarily to broker-dealers and registered investment advisers (RIAs), as well as other regulated financial firms.
Role:
DFP Partners is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Associate Legal Counsel with two to four years of legal experience as an attorney to support its in-house Legal & Operations department with a focus on commercial agreements, data protection, and legal drafting and research. This is a broad in-house generalist role reporting directly to the head of the Legal & Operations department and working cross-functionally with the operations, IT, and administrative teams.
NOTE: This is a fully remote position. Official title and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Draft/review and negotiate commercial agreements, including client engagement letters, service agreements, NDAs, vendor agreements, independent contractor agreements, etc.
- Draft a variety of legal documents and provide support for company related legal proceedings, regulatory matters, and dispute resolution activities
- Conduct due diligence on prospective clients using established internal processes, identify material findings, and prepare concise risk summaries for management
- Assist with data protection, privacy, and information security-related agreements and documentation
- Assist with responding to client due diligence questionnaires and other requests for information regarding the company and its InfoSec and data security procedures
- Assist in drafting new internal policies and procedures
- Review new laws and regulations to advise various personnel in the Legal & Operations and Administrative departments as to their applicability to the firm
- Complete and partake in miscellaneous legal research and operations projects as directed by the head of the Legal & Operations department
Required Qualifications:
- Admitted to and in good standing with the bar of at least one US state (preferably New York or Florida)
- 2 to 4 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with a reputable law firm or in-house legal team
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, such as engagement letters, SOWs, vendor agreements, and NDAs
Preferred Areas of Expertise:
- Data privacy laws and regulations (country and state specific)
- IT law and information security standards
- Legal procedure drafting and filing of court documents
- Securities law or if you hold applicable Series licenses
- Leveraging AI tools to improve operational workflows

Compensation:
- Salary Range is $100,000 to $140,000 commensurate with experience
