The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has become available for an Associate to join a well-established and growing General Insurance team based in Sydney CBD.
This role will see you working across a broad range of insurance litigation matters, including:
- Public Liability
- Product Liability
- Professional Indemnity
- Property Damage
- General Insurance Disputes
Working closely with experienced Principals and Senior Lawyers, you will gain exposure to high-quality matters while being entrusted with responsibility for managing your own files and maintaining direct client relationships.
This position offers the ideal environment for a lawyer looking to further develop their litigation, advocacy, client management and strategic advisory skills within a respected insurance practice.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
- At least 2 years' post-admission experience in insurance litigation
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: public liability, product liability, professional indemnity, property damage or general insurance litigation
- Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- A proactive and client-focused approach
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied insurance litigation caseload
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence, advices and court documents
- Conducting legal research and providing strategic advice
- Attending mediations, settlement conferences and court appearances
- Advising insurer and corporate clients on liability, indemnity and risk matters
- Managing matters involving public liability, product liability, professional indemnity and property damage claims
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Working closely with senior practitioners on complex matters
