This role offers the opportunity to join a top-tier Competition practice within a leading international law firm and contribute to its continued development.
Our Competition team in Bukarest works with prominent international and regional clients on sophisticated competition law matters in a dynamic and international environment, with strong exposure to cross-border work across the CEE/SEE region.
We are looking for an Associate Lawyer who is motivated, detail-oriented and eager to develop strong expertise in competition law. If you are seeking a challenging international environment with real responsibility from day one, this could be the right opportunity for you.
How you’ll contribute
- Advising clients on EU and Romanian competition law matters across a wide range of industries
- Handling merger control filings and related regulatory processes
- Assisting with antitrust investigations, including abuse of dominance cases
- Advising on state aid matters and competition compliance programmes
- Supporting clients in navigating evolving regulatory frameworks and enforcement trends across the CEE/SEE region
What matters to us
- Degree from an accredited Romanian law faculty
- Qualification as a lawyer registered with a Romanian Bar Association, with active membership in good standing
- 1-5 years’ relevant experience in competition law, with solid knowledge of EU and Romanian competition rules, including merger control, antitrust enforcement, abuse of dominance and compliance; experience with competition authorities or regulatory proceedings is an advantage
- Strong analytical and legal drafting skills, with the ability to interpret legislation, case law and administrative decisions and to assess legal and commercial risks in complex transactions
- Excellent communication skills in Romanian and English, combined with strong attention to detail and the ability to prepare clear and structured legal advice
- Proactive, solution-oriented professional with strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple matters simultaneously, meet tight deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
