What
You’ll Do
We’re seeking an exceptional Associate General Counsel, Regulated Entities, to support our global regulated activities. This strategic role involves leading negotiations with various partnerships, overseeing all corporate governance across the company’s entities, and helping shape the future ecosystem of digital assets. You will report directly to the General Counsel and serve as a vital bridge between legal and various global teams.
Responsibilities
Lead all legal matters related to our regulated activities, focusing on payment and custody services.
Provide sophisticated legal guidance on complex regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
Partner with business teams to structure compliant yet innovative financial products and services.
Manage relationships with institutional clients, regulators, and banking partners.
Navigate high-risk regulatory environments while enabling business growth.
Build positive relationships with leadership and cross-functional partners, promoting the Legal team’s expertise across the company.
Support the General Counsel and Legal team in evaluating and communicating legal risks to stakeholders.
Negotiate, structure, and draft legal agreements related to corporate transactions such as M&A, partnerships, and joint ventures.
Required Skills
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the NY bar.
10+ years of legal experience, especially in regulated financial technology companies.
Expertise in payments regulation, digital asset custody, and related frameworks.
In-house experience at a fintech or digital asset company.
Successful track record of launching regulated financial products in multiple jurisdictions.
Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments with limited resources.
Experience working with financial institutions and structuring legal partnerships.
Knowledge of global corporate governance best practices.
For employees hired at our NYC headquarters, Fireblocks is required by law to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range, which is specific to New York City. The estimated base salary range for this role is $203,000 to $279,000, considering factors such as experience and skills. Compensation may include bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.
