Our client, United Health Group, is seeking a highly qualified attorney to assume a leadership role within the United Healthcare legal department. This position will focus on supporting out-of-network reimbursement and overseeing the implementation of the No Surprises Act.
The work is remote

Primary Responsibilities
Act as internal counsel on the No Surprises Act and its rule making
Advise on state laws regarding out-of-network reimbursement
Address preemption issues related to the No Surprises Act and out-of-network reimbursement
Provide legal counsel across the organization on out-of-network reimbursement
Assist in resolving pre-litigation and pre-arbitration disputes
Support arbitration proceedings involving out-of-network disputes, including brief writing
Lead and support team members, fostering a high-performance environment
Respond to third-party inquiries about reimbursement and compliance
Support post-payment settlement processes
Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree
Current law license in one or more US jurisdictions
8+ years of relevant legal experience
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Understanding of health insurance and managed care industry
Ability to advise senior leadership effectively
Experience working across complex business and legal environments
Strong communication skills
Ability to build professional relationships
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership or managerial experience
Experience with the No Surprises Act
Experience managing pre-litigation matters
Familiarity with healthcare regulatory agencies
Understanding healthcare benefit coverage
The salary range is $124,500 to $239,400 annually, based on full-time employment and various factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions. All employees must adhere to United Health Group’s Telecommuter Policy.
