A publicly traded mortgage REIT investing in a diversified portfolio of mortgage assets.
Will join the Legal/compliance team, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer
The role involves handling a mix of financial services, structured finance, compliance, asset management, and corporate legal matters. This includes working on financing transactions, mortgage loan purchases, and securitizations. The person in this role will support the trading desk with counterparty relationships, ISDA documentation, and transaction logistics. They’ll also manage regulatory compliance across agencies like the SEC, FINRA, and CFTC, ensuring the firm operates within the necessary frameworks.
Ideal candidate:
3-4 years at a law firm plus current in-house experience dealing with mortgages, REITs, or structured finance.
4th-7th year law firm associate with experience in mortgage REITs, mortgage originators, mortgage servicers, banks, structured finance, or broker-dealers in the public and private markets.
