About the Role:
A prestigious Tier 1 law firm is seeking a highly experienced Associate General Counsel to focus on lateral conflicts and integration. This role will serve as the key liaison between lateral hires and the firm, working closely with the Conflicts Department and the General Counsel’s Office to ensure a seamless transition for new partners. This is a critical position requiring deep expertise in conflicts management and lateral onboarding within a top-tier law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and assist with clearing lateral conflicts in collaboration with the Conflicts Department.
Act as the primary point of contact for lateral hires, ensuring smooth integration into the firm.
Provide guidance on onboarding processes from the General Counsel Office’s perspective.
Support new partners with opening matters and obtaining necessary clearances.
Work cross-functionally with firm leadership, practice groups, and administrative departments to enhance integration processes.
Stay informed on regulatory and compliance developments impacting conflicts and lateral hiring.
Requirements:
10+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally in a similar role at an AmLaw 100 firm.
Deep knowledge of conflicts management, ethical considerations, and regulatory compliance in a law firm setting.
Strong understanding of law firm operations and the complexities of lateral partner onboarding.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
J.D. from a top-tier law school and admission to the New York Bar.
