The Corporate office of Smith Group is looking for an Associate General Counsel to
join our team
.
Working with us, you will:
• Assist in developing corporate policies, procedures, and programs.
• Review corporate transactions, such as contract and lease reviews/negotiations.
• Consult with the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel to determine the merits of project and employment claims made against or on behalf of the company.
• Participate in business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Participate in legal aspects of the company’s financing, including assessing current and future business structures and legal entities.
• Advise on best practices in corporate governance, understanding of compliance issues, and regulatory issues.
• Participate in the evaluation of the company’s insurance programs.
• Support patent pursuits by the company.
An ideal candidate has:
• 1-3 years’ experience in construction and transactional law. In-house counsel experience is strongly preferred, but relevant outside counsel experience will also be considered.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required. An undergraduate Engineering or Architectural degree is preferred.
• Active bar membership required.
• Excellent legal, analytical, and
communication skills
.
• Developed professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels of the company.
• Working knowledge of Adobe software. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

salary range
