, value driven, and you will play an instrumental role on the Compass Legal Team.
Please note this position is 100% onsite in our Beverly Hills office (9454 Wilshire Blvd).
At Compass You Will:
• Serve as one of the primary lawyers responsible for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, debt financings, and other strategic corporate transactions, working closely with outside counsel, internal business clients and legal subject matter experts
• Help oversee corporate paralegal work streams, legal entity management and the legal due diligence processes
• Advise on legal issues and risks and help ensure compliance with laws and regulations
• Draft ancillary documentation relating to strategic transactions under tight deadlines
• Coordinate transaction signings and closings
• Work collaboratively with multiple
cross-functional teams
on post-transaction and integration matters
• Drive improvement of standard form agreements, transaction playbooks, and other legal processes
• Assist with legal trainings for business clients and retrospectives to identify and develop improvements
What We Look For:
• Strong academic credentials including a JD and membership in good standing in at least one state bar (NY or CA bar a plus)
• 2+ years of top-tier law firm experience (in-house experience a plus)
• Background in M&A, leveraged finance, or other complex commercial/transactional practice
• Confidence operating in a
fast-paced environment
with the desire to learn the business
• Able to manage several simultaneous projects and shift priorities under deadline pressure in a
dynamic environment
• A team player with low ego who can effectively work with business clients, other attorneys and legal professionals
• Strong organizational skills and
attention to detail
• Exceptional written and verbal
communication skills
and an ability to clearly and simply explain complex ideas
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $135K-$167K annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
