Associate Attorney (Medical Malpractice)
Robert Half Legal has partnered with a mid-sized plaintiff’s law firm in downtown Chicago on an Associate Attorney (Medical Malpractice) position. This position offers the opportunity to handle complex, high-exposure medical negligence cases from intake through trial while advocating for individuals and families impacted by serious healthcare-related injuries.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of plaintiff-side medical malpractice matters from inception through resolution.
- Conduct case evaluations and analyze medical records to identify viable claims.
- Collaborate with medical experts and consultants to develop liability and damages theories.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement demand packages.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, medical providers, and experts.
- Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
- Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and trial strategy.
- Conduct legal research and draft persuasive briefs and memoranda.
- Develop and execute case strategies aimed at maximizing client recovery.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary ranging from $130,000–$160,000+, depending on experience
- Multiple ways to bonus
