Job Summary
Our client is seeking a mid- to senior-level Employee Benefits Attorney to join their legal team in Rochester, Buffalo, or Albany, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work with a well-established firm specializing in employee benefits law, with potential remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel on all aspects of employee benefits law, including the design, establishment, maintenance, and operation of various retirement, welfare, and fringe benefit plans.
Advise clients on compliance with ERISA, COBRA, ACA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
Assist with executive compensation matters, including tax implications and compliance considerations.
Conduct legal research and provide guidance on employee benefits laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Draft and review plan documents, policies, and regulatory filings.
Counsel clients on tax implications related to retirement plans, health insurance, and executive compensation.
Qualifications & Experience
4 to 10 years of experience in Employee Benefits law.
Strong knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
Experience advising on 401(k), pension plans, executive compensation, and health insurance benefits.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong academic background.
A proactive, client-service-oriented mindset with a high level of initiative.

Pay: $61,347.42 – $100,000.00 per year
