Workers Compensation Case Manager / Legal Assistant

Qualifications
At least 1 year experience in Worker’s Compensation Law
Familiar with EAMS/ WCAB, DORs filing, PQME evaluation
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Excellent grammar and communication skills
Job Duties (include but not limited to)
Process new files from Intake
Assist handling attorney/hearing representative from the beginning of a case to settlement
Act as first contact to applicant, insurance, and medicals on case
Filing and Serving Workers’ Compensation Documents
Manage applicants’ treatment including obtaining medical records, scheduling medical appointments, requesting doctor panels, scheduling AME/PQMEs
Prepare Pre-Trial Conference Statements, settlement documents, and Trial exhibits in advance of hearings and depositions as applicable.
Keep applicants up to date on the status of their case
Be able to handle 100 – 150 files at a time.
