Associate Attorney – Collections and Litigation Jobs in Roseland, NJ at Haller Sirot LLC
Haller Sirot LLC is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its community-association collections and litigation practice. The successful candidate will manage a substantial caseload involving the collection of unpaid assessments and related charges, foreclosure proceedings, and civil litigation on behalf of condominium associations, homeowners’ associations, and cooperatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong professional and ethical record, excellent organizational and communication skills, and at least two years of litigation experience. Experience in creditors’ rights, collections, foreclosure, community-association law, or real-estate litigation is preferred.
Responsibilities
· Managing community-association collection matters from initial demand through resolution
· Preparing collection notices, pleadings, motions, certifications, settlement agreements, payment plans, liens, and foreclosure documents
· Handling civil collection actions and mortgage-style foreclosure proceedings
· Appearing in court for conferences, motions, trials, foreclosure matters, and other proceedings
· Conducting discovery, including preparing and responding to written discovery and taking or defending depositions
· Negotiating settlements and payment arrangements
· Evaluating files and recommending appropriate collection or litigation strategies
· Communicating regularly with condominium, homeowners’ association, and cooperative boards, property managers, debtors, opposing counsel, and other interested parties
· Advising clients regarding collection policies, enforcement options, bankruptcy issues, and litigation risks
· Conducting legal research and preparing written legal analyses as necessary
· Reviewing files regularly and maintaining accurate and current matter-status information
· Managing a high-volume caseload while meeting deadlines and established performance expectations
· Recording time accurately and complying with the firm’s policies, procedures, and professional standards
Qualifications
· Admission to the New Jersey Bar and good standing
· At least two years of litigation experience
· Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral-advocacy skills
· Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and self-represented parties
· Experience in collections, creditors’ rights, foreclosure, bankruptcy, real-estate litigation, or community-association law preferred
· Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and related state and federal collection laws is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
Haller Sirot LLC offers a professional and collegial working environment, and a competitive salary commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and ability to independently manage a collections and litigation caseload. The successful candidate may also be eligible for performance-based bonus compensation.

Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
