What You’ll Do:
- Manage a diverse caseload involving assessment recovery, money judgments, bankruptcy, judgment execution, foreclosure, and other real property matters
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned and personally originated cases while independently managing matters from initial filing through resolution
- Draft complaints, answers, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents
- Conduct discovery, prepare witnesses, and take and defend depositions
- Handle motion practice, trial preparation, and trial proceedings while developing comprehensive case strategies
- Advise clients regarding case developments, legal strategy, potential outcomes, and the ongoing status of their matters
- Chair client corporate meetings and confidently communicate legal information to groups and organizational leadership
- Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, sound legal guidance, and consistent case management
- Manage a high volume of matters while effectively delegating and coordinating work with administrative support staff
- Maintain electronic task lists, case documentation, deadlines, and accurate billing records
What We’re Looking For:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active admission to practice law in the State of Ohio required
- 1-5 years of relevant litigation experience involving real estate, corporate, contract law, or civil litigation representing governmental organizations
- Experience drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing witnesses, handling depositions, managing motion practice, and preparing matters for trial
- Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload while maintaining organization, accuracy, and responsiveness
- Strong client-facing skills with an interest in developing long-term client relationships and providing practical legal guidance
- Comfort with public speaking, leading client meetings, and communicating complex legal matters clearly and professionally
- Strong technology skills, including experience with Microsoft operating systems and the ability to learn sophisticated legal and case-management software
- Demonstrated work ethic, dedication, professionalism, and ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, analytical, and verbal communication skills
- Availability during regular business hours with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend client meetings
