The Role
This role offers immediate immersion into high-volume insurance defense litigation, auto, premises liability, general liability, with clear guidance, structured mentorship, and support from a deeply experienced legal team.
After an initial in-office training period on Long Island, you’ll have the option to transition into a fully remote schedule. Scahill Law Group understands modern legal work, and offers both flexibility and structure to help associates succeed long-term.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a full litigation caseload from intake through resolution
Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and discovery motions
Conduct depositions and EUOs (examinations under oath)
Handle court appearances, arbitrations, and trials with confidence
Collaborate with partners and peers on strategy and trial prep
Draft post-trial motions and assist with appeals as needed
Stay current on relevant civil and insurance defense law
Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school and active NY Bar admission
3+ years of litigation experience , ideally in insurance defense
Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload
Comfortable with medical issues common in PI litigation (orthopedic, neurological, etc.)
Tech savvy, Microsoft Office, Westlaw; experience with Legal Files is a plus
