Position Description
The Legal Secretary Assistant supports the Legal Secretaries. He/She provides comprehensive clerical and organizational support to the secretaries, including scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, communicating with clients, and maintaining case files.
Job Responsibilities
Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic case files, including patient records and legal documents.
Answering phone calls, taking messages, and providing basic information.
Receive all records for IME, Expert Witness, and Second Opinion patients, make sure that they are put together properly for the physician to review.
Ensure proper payment for depositions, conferences, telephones conferences, etc. and then give the check to the appropriate personnel for posting.
Obtains any necessary information the adjusters or case managers need for payment.
Speak with adjustors, attorneys, etc. to schedule appointments, IME’s, etc.
Additional duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of computers as we are a chartless office, using Allscripts PM and Exscribe EHR system knowledge a plus
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented and a team-player
Possess a positive attitude, self-starter with good customer service focus
Ability to multi-task and solve problems
Knowledge of Health Insurances
Ability to speak with adjustors, attorneys, etc.

Education/ExperienceCompensation and Benefits
High School Diploma or equivalent experience
2+ years’ experience in an healthcare office setting
